Artist Bio
I'm Maddison Jones, an Aboriginal artist of Anaiwan and Darug heritage, born and raised in the Shoalhaven, NSW, Yuin Country. My work is about connection, culture and storytelling. I focus on celebrating Country, community and the paths we walk for healing, learning and growth.
Through my art, I aim to create spaces for reflection, connection and empowerment, sharing stories that are meaningful both personally and for the wider community. Much of my inspiration comes from the Shoalhaven landscapes, oceans and bush, and from the strong women in my life who have taught me resilience and the importance of kinship. As a young emerging artist, my practice centres on women, healing and community, and I hope to continue growing my work in ways that honour Country and create welcoming spaces for others.
